Located in the Canton of Bern, in the North Western Jungfrau region, Lauterbrunnen is one of the deepest valleys in the Swiss Alps. With some stretches as narrow as a kilometer across the valley floor between near sheer mountainsides, the Lauterbrunnen valley is among the most picturesque in the world. The area is spacious and sparsely populated, and the main languages spoken are German, Portuguese and Croatian.
The Lauterbrunnen area encompasses the villages of Wengen, Mürren, Gimmelwald, Stechelberg, Isenfluh and Lauterbrunnen. Enter the valley by train or bike; once you’ve arrived, exploring the villages is easily done on foot.

Staubbach Falls and Trümmelbach Falls are the most notable, and definitely worth a visit while in the region.
